ND Student Travels to Africa to Volunteer with Local Nonprofits Last fall, Katherine Martin, a fifth-year naturopathic medical student, traveled with three other Bastyr students to Ghana, West Africa, to provide medical support and education to people with HIV/AIDS. The trip, sponsored by Bastyr's Action Africa Club, provided Martin with a life-changing opportunity to help a community that lacks medical resources. Four Overseas Projects Funded by Venture Grant Committee Four more student groups have just received Bastyr University venture grants, which will enable them to pursue exciting overseas adventures that will enhance their education.
